You never know…
…who is reading your blog. This we discovered in embarrassing style on Sunday night.
Our avid reader will remember that we were due to see Darren Bennett & Lilia Kopylova last Sunday, at The Assembly Rooms in the Dance in Time Spring Ball. Well see them we did, and they were fantastic – they did five numbers, as well as a masterclass before the Ball, (which we didn’t have time to get to, it being Mothers’ Day and all). I particularly enjoyed the jive they performed, to ‘Stuff Like That There’ by Bette Midler (above). I’ve danced modern jive to that track and it’s very fast – you certainly know you’ve been dancing after two and a half minutes of that!
Anyway, about halfway through the show Darren and Lilia took some questions from the audience of about 200, and right at the end Lilia said “Before we do our next number, is there a Keith in the audience who is married to a garden designer?” There was – it was my husband, whose strange facial expression was an unusual mixture of mortification and astonishment. Lilia then said she’d read the blog and told him to make sure he gets my garden sorted! Ha ha haaaa!!!
So, as Lilia said: you never know who is reading your blog!
Keith says when he’s dug the pond out and it’s all finished he’s going to call it the Lilia Kopylova Memorial Fishpond – I’m sure she’ll be delighted!
