Swimming Pool Garden in Warwickshire
This is the second garden we’ve designed for these clients. The first, in Rugby, was sold before we got around with our cameras. This time around we’ve managed to visit a few times to catalogue the project from start to finish.
Our clients bought a very old house and immediately remodelled it to suit their requirements, adding a large extension and completely modernising inside and out. They asked us to design their garden while the extension was still on the architect’s drawing board.
The brief was to drastically modernise the area around the house and extension, to include a fibreglass swimming pool from Starline Pools, an entertainment area complete with pergolas and an outdoor kitchen/bar. We looked to incorporate modern raised planters, rendered in a similar style to the house refurbishment. We also included multiple seating areas and a split-level water blade pond feature.
Our clients wanted their planting to create an impact, but be easy to care for. We opted for large feature raised planters around the perimeter of the paved patio area. One, nearest to the swimming pool, contains bamboo and tall grasses to act as a screen. A second raised bed contains a mix of herbaceous planting and structural phormiums. A third bed contains mass planting of agapanthus.
